Team:

First of all, thank you. Your efforts as Sawbuck Patriots lead today's California Politico Playbook. Read the whole thing here...

What began 10 days ago as an intimate group of cash-giving Democratic friends has turned into hundreds, who are now donating thousands every day to races around the country — in many cases far more than the $10 buy-in. “We’ve got people who say, 'You know what? I’m giving $100, or $500 today,'" he said.

And here's today's Sawbuck Patriot race:

THE SITUATION: Until our candidate won two years ago, OK-05 had been represented by Rs for the previous forty-four years. It encompasses the capital, Oklahoma City, and several other smaller towns. Like many of our other targeted districts, it's gone Bush Bush McCain Romney Trump, though DT's 53% winning percentage is far below the four previous races. It is a strong R district, but national handicappers have it generally listed as a jump-ball district, primarily on the strength of the recently elected now-incumbent. But before we get to her...

THE COMPETITION: Stephanie Bice is a R state senator in Oklahoma. Her website explaining that she's the only candidate endorsed by the NRA (receiving an A+ rating!), and that she's a pro-life conservative. The part of her bio that gets the most real estate on her "ABOUT" page (what she's done, not what she'll do) is a paragraph focusing on her remarkable work to modernize OK's liquor laws. Yeah. Liquor laws. Just like you, fellow Sawbuck Patriot, Senator Bice is focusing her work not on the environment, not on the pandemic, not on steering our nation towards a more perfect union, but rather changing how liquor can be sold, because OBVIOUSLY that's what's most needed right now. (There was $1.6M of advertising on behalf of this measure provided by Walmart, because obviously the measure was completely about reforming LIQUOR LAWS, rather than being about creating unfair advantages for big-box sellers of alcohol.)

(Narrator voice: "No, it wasn't."

InconCIEV-able!

OUR CANDIDATEKendra Horn. She flipped this district two years ago, upsetting a two-term R incumbent who'd beaten his competition by 20+ and 25+ points. In one of the closest races in the nation, Kendra beat him by less than a percentage point, underlining her remarkable skills as a politician and the effectiveness and focus of her operation. She's a member of the Blue Dog House caucus (made up of moderate and conservative Ds), which, frankly, is the only kind of D that can win in this R +10 district. But that doesn't mean she shies away from some core, critical issues (besides crucial liquor sales changes, obvi) - she has declared that "health care is a right, not a privilege," and she's got a 100% rating from NARAL. Speaker Pelosi has chosen Rep. Horn's re-election as one of her key priorities this cycle, and as we all know, in R vs. D contests, Nancy Pelosi doesn't say "oh it'll all be all right" when there isn't a real path to victory. So MY MATH, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, PELOSI'S, BOTH SAY SHE CAN WIN.

Sawbuck Patriots, it’s go time: click HERE and send $10 (or more!) to Kendra's campaign. Our collective effort will invest $3530 today.

PS - I'm sorry. I blew it yesterday, and told you OHIO's last eleven Presidential results were WISCONSIN's. Please accept my apology. If you refuse to accept my apology, I'll double down and happily buy you some beer cheese soup when it's both safe and legal for us to meet up and eat it.
