I just want to write to personally thank all of you for the support you've given to my campaign. It is inspiring to see how so many of you coming together to do your part can make such a big difference in race across the country. Your help will make sure we continue to get our message out there, that we're victorious on Election Day, and that we get closer to bringing much needed change to this country.

THE SITUATION: NY-21. It's rural, encompassing the Adirondacks. It's northern; it borders both Vermont and Canada. It's a politically flexible district; it voted for Ds for President six times in a row before supporting Trump in '16. A D last represented this district in 2015. The district is +4 R in registration, holds the Army's Ft. Drum in it, and is complicated.  

THE COMPETITION: Elise Stefanik, the youngest R woman ever elected to the House. She's a Trump supporter, voting with him about eighty percent of the time, and emerged as one of his lead defenders during the House impeachment process, where she pulled flatly political stunts that caused chaos designed to upend the process. Stefanik's cavalier relationship with the truth has been highlighted again and again, generally alongside comparisons to Trump. She's an emerging star in the R party, but is limited in options to seek higher office in mostly blue NY, so word is she's angling for a prominent administration position in Trump's second term - or perhaps a run for NY Governor. 

OUR CANDIDATE: Tedra Cobb. She finished behind Stefanik two years ago, distantly, but this time around she's got better name recognition, has done better in fundraising (despite refusing any corporate PAC money), and she has staked out relatively moderate positions on healthcare and the environment that can get her elected in this R-leaning district.

This rural district has started to grow disenchanted with Trump's broken promises and his horrifying COVID-19 response - and Stefanik has tied herself closely to the President, for better (two years ago), and now for worse. This race will be tight, and when one of these candidates wins, it'll be by a small margin. Still, THE MATH SAYS TEDRA CAN WIN, so let's go help her out with that goal.
